Welcome! I’m Anne-marie and I’m the managing editor for Countryside Magazine and Backyard Poulty. I also do the layout for Dairy goat Journal.

Here’s a family photo, taken at my homestead in Taylor Co., Wisconsin on my parent’s 50th Wedding Anniversary in May, 2009. If we look a little uncomfortable, that’s because it was downright chilly and windy on May 30th!

If you’re new to Countryside, Dad and Mom (Jd & Diane) started Countryside in 1969 and “retired” in 2000. I remember as kids, we would walk around the kitchen table collating pages of the 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 newsletter, stapling the pages together in the middle when we came to the end, then beginning on the next one. If we were good, we’d get a treat of root beer and popcorn! (Of course, it wasn’t on school nights!) Ok, it may have been a bribe, but it got the job done and we had fun.
